A three-vehicle crash in the High Desert claimed one life on Halloween, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.
According to an SBSD media bulletin, deputies responded to the intersection of U.S. Highway 395 and Auburn Avenue in Adelanto on Thursday at 1:38 p.m. on reports of a multi-car collision.
Two of the vehicles involved – a white Chevrolet Blazer and a blue Volkswagen Golf – were found to have been involved in a separate collision that caused the Blazer to collide with head-on a semi-truck.
“Through the investigation, deputies learned the driver of a white Chevrolet Blazer merged into the southbound lanes of Highway 395, sideswiping a blue Volkswagen Golf who was traveling southbound,” SBSD stated. “Both vehicles crossed into the northbound lanes…the Blazer then collided head-on with a semi-truck.”
The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity was not released pending notification of next of kin.
Both the driver of the semi-truck and the driver of the Volkswagen were uninjured, authorities added.
