HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (KSNW) — A Canadian Walmart store is closed for a third day while police investigate the death of a woman whose body was found inside a walk-in oven.
Halifax Nova Scotia Regional Police say they were called to the store at 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, where the 19-year-old woman was found dead inside a walk-in oven in the bakery department of the store. The department says that they have not yet reached a point where the cause and manner of death have been confirmed.
Halifax Regional Police say the investigation is complex, involving several partner agencies, and it could take a significant amount of time to determine how she died. They ask the public to be mindful of speculation about the cause of her death and the impact that could have on her family and friends.
The woman’s name has not been released. However, the CBC reports that the woman was a member of the local Sikh community.
