2 arrested for sex trafficking in Irvine, victims freed

Officers uncovered a brothel and arrested two men suspected of sex trafficking on Wednesday, according to the Irvine Police Department.

Police detailed in a Friday Instagram post that they were investigating reports of suspicious activity at a home in the Cypress Village neighborhood when they discovered the brothel and found the two men.

Qiyin Jiaqiyin, 51, of Irvine, and Xiaoming Ding, 36, of Whittier, were arrested and booked into Orange County Jail for alleged sex trafficking, according to the department.

In addition to the arrests, authorities offered assistance information to three victims who then left the site. No further information was provided on the status of the victims.

It’s unclear how many more victims may have been involved with the suspects.
