A man was killed and another was wounded after a shooting near a homeless encampment in Long Beach early Sunday morning, authorities confirmed.
Officers responded to the 2600 block of East Ocean Boulevard at about 1:54 a.m. after an “unknown trouble” call.
When they arrived, officers found a man suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his upper body. He was treated for his injuries and transported to a local hospital.
During the investigation, officers found a second man suffering from a gunshot wound, also to the upper body. He was found near the homeless encampment.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is yet to be publicly released.
The motive for the shooting is currently unknown, police said. Officers are working to identify any possible suspects.
