Klæbo was 1.61 seconds ahead of Frenchman Jules Chappaz, who followed closest. Even Northug had the third fastest time, but was 1.86 seconds behind the World Cup leader.
Lars Agnar Hjelmeset was fourth and was 2.93 seconds behind. Erik Valnes delivered a more than acceptable prologue as sixth best.
– It was alright. I guessed a little. It was not a perfect prologue, said Valnes.

Harald Østberg Amundsen failed to qualify for the knock-out rounds. He finished in 41st place, beaten by over ten seconds by Klæbo.
