The Norwegian Police Directorate’s assessment was presented by Police Director Benedicte Bjørnland on Tuesday afternoon.
– It is likely that there will also be incidents of violence with a potentially fatal outcome as a result of the gangs’ internal conflicts in 2023, writes the directorate in its assessment.
The gangs have in common that they engage in drug, threat and violent crime in the public space, the police write. In the past year, there have been several serious incidents of violence connected to gang environments in the Oslo area.
The threat assessment also states that in the past year there have been several cases where Swedish actors associated with criminal gangs in Norway have become visible in connection with violent missions.
The report also mentions that criminal networks are controlled from abroad to a greater extent than before and will dominate the market for importing drugs. Countries such as Morocco, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates and Dubai in particular are mentioned as particularly attractive haunts for criminals.
