This is Viking Football’s new board – Dagsavisen

Viking Fotball AS held a general meeting on Tuesday, where Jan Henrik Jelsa and Susanne Wærholm Bærheim were elected for two years as board members. Wærholm Bærheim is new to the board, while Jelsa has been on the board for several years.

Chairman Stig Harry Christiansen has one year left in the election period, while the incoming deputy member Erik Hestnes Sæstad was re-elected for another year.

Apart from the formalities, there was little that ended up on the agenda in Jåttåvågen, and general manager Eirik Bjørnø is satisfied.

– There were no comments on anything, and a very good atmosphere. A fine general meeting, says Bjørnø to RA.

This means that Merethe Berge Paasche is stepping down from the board. She now joins the selection committee.

THE VIKING RULES

Viking Football AS

Chairman: Stig Harry Christiansen

Board members: Rune Bertelsen (FK), Ellen Heggheim (FK), Jan Henrik Jelsa and Susanne Wærholm Bærheim.

Deputies: Erik Hestnes Sæstad and Eirik Myhre (FK).

Viking FC

Chairman: Rune Bertelsen

Board members: Eirik Myhre (deputy leader), Odd Egil Flokketvedt, Helen Rygh, Kjartan Hjorteland, Arild Ravndal, Gary Goodchild and Hanne Hanasand Moen.

Deputy member: Tina Skjelde.

No dividends

Before the general meeting, the election committee was one of the few topics on the agenda. An amendment to the articles of association went through, which means that the election committee is now elected for two years.

– It is very sensible, and ensures continuity in all bodies, says Bjørnø.

Although Viking presented a profit, there was never any discussion at the general meeting about paying dividends to shareholders.

– No, it is only mentioned in the board’s report, says Bjørnø – and refers to the annual report:

“The board has assessed dividends in light of the company’s dividend policy, results and liquidity situation as of 2022, and concluded not to set a dividend for 2022 and instead to further strengthen Viking measured by solvency and liquidity. The next evaluation of dividends will be done at the latest at the 2023 annual accounts.”

Goodchild into FK

Thus, Viking’s annual meeting and general meeting have been completed. Monday’s annual meeting in Viking FK led to club hero Gary Goodchild joining the board via bench proposal.

Normally, a bench proposal would have come at the expense of the selection committee’s recommendation, but the annual meeting chose to expand the board by one person.

FK board chairman Bertelsen is happy with that decision, and sees the board’s new growth as something positive.

– He has both expertise and is a nice guy. We are looking forward to having him on the team, says Bertelsen.
