Vigdis Hjorth could become the first Norwegian author to win the Booker prize – Dagsavisen

– I am surprised, overwhelmed and grateful, Hjorth adds VG.

She is nominated for the novel “Er mor død” from 2020.

The Booker Prize is considered the most prestigious literary award in the English-speaking world. Hjorth is one of 13 authors nominated this year. Six of these are on the shortlist for the award. This will be announced on 18 April, before the award is presented in London on 23 May.

Hjorth is only the third Norwegian author to have been nominated. Jon Fosse and Roy Jacobsen are the other two.
