Tarantino has long been one of the most famous and beloved filmmakers in Hollywood. He is behind classics such as “Pulp Fiction” and “Kill Bill”, to name a few. His most recent film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, came out in 2019.
Now he will soon start the very last film project of his career as a director, writes The Hollywood Reporter. They write that filming will start this autumn and that the title of the project will be “The Movie Critic”, or “Filmkritikeren” in Norwegian.
Sources with knowledge of the project tell the industry website that the action in the film is set in the late 1970s in Los Angeles, and that the film will have a female lead. The Hollywood Reporter speculates whether the film could possibly be about Pauline Kael, one of the most influential American film critics of all time. She died in 2001 and is supposed to be highly respected by Tarantino, writes the website.

Will give his best
The award-winning director has previously stated that he has long had a vision of making only ten films in his career, because he wants to quit while he is at his peak.
– I have been able to work in this industry at the highest level a director can work at. I want to end on a high note. I want to stop while the release of a new Quentin Tarantino film is an event, he says in this interview with YMH Studios.

He has already released ten separate films (see fact box), but many – including himself – count the two Kill Bill films as one.
The director turns 60 later this month, and although he plans to retire as a filmmaker, he has expressed that he still wants to work in the entertainment industry. Among other things, he has opened the door to directing episodes of TV series, which he has already done earlier in his career.
