Over the past few years, the Philadelphia 76ers have been a team on the rise in the NBA, with center Joel Embiid reaching superstar status while finally edging out Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic to win his first NBA MVP award in 2023.
Along with Embiid and emerging star Tyrese Maxey coming into their own, the 76ers also recently signed veteran star Paul George, formerly of the Los Angeles Clippers, which forms one of the most talented trios in the Eastern Conference to combat the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics.
Although everything has been on the rise regarding the 76ers lately, there’s been a lot of speculation about the team potentially moving elsewhere and leaving the city of Philadelphia, which hasn’t sat well with diehard fans of the storied franchise.
However, the team got some good news about their immediate future in Philadelphia, with John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia reporting that Mayor Cherelle Parker has ensured the team will be staying put with a new arena, pending legislative approval.

This is excellent news for 76ers fans and the city of Philadelphia, as it would be awful to see the NBA leave another big market that is passionate about basketball.
Even though this seems headed in the right direction, it is not set in stone that the 76ers are staying, but things do look to be trending up for the franchise in its historic location.
