The police deny that they are sitting on evidence in the JonBenét case – Dagsavisen

The true crime documentary deals with the murder of JonBenét Ramsey in Christmas 1996 and re-examines the case, including the missteps of the media and the police.

It had its US premiere the streaming service Nov. 25, prompting police in Boulder, Colorado to speed up their annual update on the case, the AP reports.

Six-year-old JonBenét Ramsay was killed on December 25 or 26, 28 years ago. The documentary claims that there is solid evidence and clues about the murder that the police have not followed up on – but the Boulder police chief, Steve Redfearn, denies this, according to the AP.

In a video statement, Redfearn says that it is hoped that news coverage and documentaries about the murder can provide new clues, but that one must be careful about what one shares in order to protect a possible future trial.

JonBenét’s father, John Ramsay, appears in the Netflix documentary. He says he wants more items to be DNA tested, and others retested, and that the results should be entered into a family database.

“Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey” is currently not available in Norway.
