Politicians on both the far-left and far-right wings of French politics have been critical of the proposed budget, according to French Finance Minister Antoine Armand.
– We are ready to enter into a compromise, says Armand on Thursday to French BFM TV. He believes the financial market could go into a tailspin if a budget is not adopted soon.
The budget chaos also threatens to topple the new government of Prime Minister Michel Barnier.
– Regardless of the value differences we have, today we are faced with an extremely serious situation in our country, says Armand to the TV channel.
