Hurtigruten sold to new ownership group that invests more than 360 million euros – Dagsavisen

An important milestone for Hurtigruten, says Hurtigruten CEO Hedda Felin.

– This solution enables us to continue working on realizing our long-term goals, enabling sustainable growth and creating even better customer experiences. We look forward to working together with our new owners, says Hedda Felin, managing director of Hurtigruten.

“The world’s most beautiful sea voyage”

The investor group, which includes Arini Capital Management, Albacore Capital and Barings, plans to continue Hurtigruten’s focus on the coastal route and its status as “the world’s most beautiful sea voyage”.

Orders for 2025 are already 24 percent higher than at the same time last year, and the company expects further growth in 2026.

– Hurtigruten is an iconic brand with a rich history. We look forward to supporting the company’s management and employees in their efforts to realize Hurtigruten’s full potential and create unique travel experiences for guests, says Torben Geisler in Arini on behalf of the ownership group.

Through the transaction, Hurtigruten will reduce its total debt by over 1 billion euros, and the remaining debt will be around 400 million euros. In addition, the loan maturities on the remaining debt are extended until 2030 at the earliest.

Norwegian flag

Hurtigruten will continue to have its head office in Oslo and operate its ten ships under the Norwegian flag. Hedda Felin and her management team will continue to manage the company.

From 1 December, the team will be further strengthened with Per-Hermod Rasmussen as new CFO.

The transaction is expected to be completed in January 2025.
