The American aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman sailed into the Oslofjord at 2pm on Friday and anchored off Malmøya in Oslo together with an American cruiser and an Italian frigate.
On Saturday afternoon, the Oslo police report that they have stopped over a hundred cars with warship spectacles near Malmøya.
– If you are interested in seeing the ship up close, the police suggest using your legs, bicycle or public transport, they write in the police log.
The police have stated that they are assisting the Armed Forces in connection with the visit and warned that there was going to be increased military activity, including along Akershusstranda, during the period.
In addition, the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority has created two temporary restricted areas where it is not permitted to fly drones.
With its 333 meters, the USS Harry S. Truman is one of the world’s largest aircraft carriers.
