Real-life grinches take Christmas decorations from Long Beach business

A pair of real-life grinches were caught on video stealing Christmas decorations from in front of a Long Beach photography studio earlier this week.

The incident was recorded on surveillance video outside f/8 Studios on the 3700 block of Orange Avenue Tuesday.

The video shared with KTLA showed a man and woman walking up to the business and taking the Frosty and Santa decorations near the front door.

f/8 Studios co-founder Marni Farmer says putting decorations outside might make them targets but they love spreading holiday cheer.

“These are vintage holiday decorations … We love Christmas. We love holiday time. We do a lot of decorating for our business and for our home. To have somebody walk up and take them … It was really upsetting to us,” Famer said.

Decorations have also been stolen in years past and in July, the store was broken into.

Surveillance video from that incident showed thieves inside the business stealing thousands of dollars worth of equipment. Farmer said the burglary was reported to police but the suspects were never apprehended.

Farmer did not choose to report Tuesday’s decoration incident to police but is hoping that sharing images of the thieves will help stop them.

She plans to continue putting up decorations and plans to host the business’s second annual tree-lighting service for the community on Dec. 5.
