Sewickley Academy thespians prep for fall play

Famed macabre author Edgar Allan Poe is the focus of this season’s fall play at Sewickley Academy.

“Nevermore! Edgar Allan Poe: the Final Mystery” runs Oct. 24-26 at the Gregg Theater on campus.

The free event is open to the public, but tickets should be reserved in advance by visiting sewickley.org/tickets.

The plot revolves around a five-day period in 1847 when Poe boarded a steamer from Baltimore harbor destined for New York City.

Without giving away the events of those five days, the story unfolds and the play weaves in stories and poems from one of the most celebrated writers in America.
