Storm Track 3 Forecast: Temp whiplash into the weekend, slight chance for rain

Lows into Wednesday morning will not be as cold as we have experienced so far this season.

It will still be a chillier start before turning into a milder finish on Wednesday.  No rain to be had with this frontal passage.

High pressure will shift to the east of us and briefly allow another temperature spike on Thursday once the southerly flow commences.  Some record high temperatures may be broken. Wichita and portions of south-central Kansas will crank to nearly 90 degrees!

Winds will increase and gust from 30-40 MPH.  We will need to keep an eye on any wildfires given the warmth, gusty winds and humidity drop.  Southwest Kansas into the Oklahoma Panhandle look more prone for this to occur.

Another cool front sweeps through Thursday night.  Enough moisture will gel for showers and storms over Northeast Kansas.

This will try to build back into the central part of the state.  It will have to do so quickly before the front effectively switches the winds around from the north and shuts down this limited opportunity.

The pendulum swings slightly cooler into Friday.  Frost is possible to the northwest early Friday. More areas of northern and western Kansas will be in frost territory by Saturday morning.

The wind will return from the south, our warmer direction, late this weekend into early next week.  The Kansas wind machine will turn up with gusts from 30-45 MPH on Monday.

This is signaling the next cool shot and potential for rain next Tuesday/Wednesday.  Some of us might get some rain from this system, but many will be left high and dry.  The evolution of this system will be important as to who gets a quick shot of rain and who misses the moisture connection completely.
