Storting President Masud Gharahkhani (Ap), Minister of Defense Bjørn Arild Gram (Sp) and Chief of Defense Eirik Kristoffersen were also present during the commemoration
The ceremony started at 10.30 at the National Veterans Monument. There, the chief of defense gave a memorial speech and the crown prince laid a wreath.
After the ceremony, he took part in a memorial service in Akershus Fortress.
Crown Prince Haakon is currently Crown Prince Regent and is taking over several of King Harald’s duties for a period while he is on a private trip abroad.
The Armed Forces Remembrance Day was established in 2007 to honor personnel who have died in service, and is marked on the first Sunday in November each year. This is the 18th time the day has been marked.
