Wage growth slowed in the third quarter – Dagsavisen

– The growth in monthly wages has gradually decreased over the past year after it was at its highest in the third quarter of last year. Wage growth declines when we compare with 2023, which had the strongest wage growth for many years. Wage growth is not as strong this year, but still high compared to the years before 2023, says special adviser HÃ¥kon Grini in Statistics Norway (SSB).

The average monthly salary was NOK 54,410 in the third quarter. That is 5.2 per cent more than at the same time last year.

Wage growth is affected by who and how many people change jobs, enter and leave the labor market during the year. For those who had the same job both years, the average salary increased by 6.2 per cent, writes SSB.
