This is what project manager Morten Ullnæss tells us The construction industry. He believes it will take too long to realize the plans in Oslo.
– We depend on landing in a forward-leaning municipality like Nordre Follo. Oslo East would have been ideal to cover the top and width, but we don’t have ten years. Then Graham Hansen, Haaland and Ødegaard and several profiles, which are important commercially, are lost to us.
Earlier this year, Nordre Follo expressed an interest in hosting football’s national training facility in the sports park in Ski. Asker and Lillestrøm are two other locations that stand out.
– The common denominator is that these are municipalities with good public transport hubs, with fast departures to and from Oslo, and within an hour of Gardermoen, explains Ullnæss.
The NFF hopes that the project has progressed so far that it can be voted on at the football parliament in March next year.
– It is scary to say a year, but this can be developed through several building stages. The ambition is for the first construction phase to be completed before 2030, says Ullnæss.
