Increased risk of admissions with respiratory infections – Dagsavisen

In FHI’s weekly report, it appears that doctor visits for respiratory infections are increasing, but are at a normal level for the time of year.

– It is Mycoplasma pneumoniae and rhinovirus that dominate among respiratory infections now. Both infections have been at a relatively stable level for the past two weeks, the report says The Institute of Public Health (FHI).

They further write that the hospitals and municipalities must be prepared that admissions with influenza, covid-19 and other respiratory infections will increase beyond late autumn.

Last week there were 21 covid-19-associated deaths. In both weeks 41 and 42, the number was 22.

Everyone aged 65 and over, as well as younger people who belong to a risk group, is recommended a new refresher dose against covid-19. As of 27 October, 26 per cent in the age group 65 years and older had been vaccinated since 1 September.
