Eight minutes into the second period, the Norwegian dispatched an excellent pass from Kirill Kaprizov magnificently into the goal. It was Zuccarello’s sixth shutout of the season.
Before the Norwegian’s goal, Zach Bogosian had sent the Wild into the lead early in the opening period. Shortly into the second period, Joel Eriksson Ek thought he had doubled the visitors’ lead, but the goal was disallowed for offside.
Instead, it was the Sharks and Macklin Celebrini who tied the score at 1-1.
After Zuccarello’s 2-1 goal, Wild had another goal disallowed for offside, but just before the end of the second period, Matthew Boldy scored to make it 3-1. In the last period, Jonas Brodin made it 4-1 for the visitors from Minnesota. Macklin Celebrini then reduced the score to 4-2, before Boldy made it 5-2 just before the end.
The Wild lost 1-5 against the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night. Before that, Zuccarello’s crew had seven wins in eight games.
