After an unexpectedly successful 2023 season in which they won 10 games and reached the playoffs, the Los Angeles Rams were expected to be very competitive this season.
But they have started the year 0-2, and to add injury to insult, their two best wide receivers are banged up.
Puka Nacua, last year’s surprise rookie stud, injured his PCL in Week 1 and will miss several games, and on Sunday, Cooper Kupp hurt his ankle and was seen in a walking boot.
According to head coach Sean McVay, Kupp is expected to miss an “extended period of time,” per Bleacher Report.

Kupp looked poised for a big season after he had 110 yards in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions, but he managed just four catches for 37 yards on Sunday before leaving early with his injury.
Without him and Nacua, Los Angeles got embarrassed by the Arizona Cardinals, a team that likely won’t make the playoffs, 41-10.
The timing of Kupp’s injury is rather poor, as the Rams will face the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday and the Green Bay Packers in Week 5.
While both the Niners and Packers have key injuries of their own, the Rams’ offense will be seriously short-handed without their two main air threats.
Very few teams make the playoffs after starting 0-2, and their record could easily be 1-4 once they have their bye in Week 6.
