Russell Wilson to Miami? Now that’s a headline-grabber.

With Tua Tagovailoa sidelined after his recent concussion, the Dolphins’ quarterback situation has become a hot topic, and Russell Wilson’s name is suddenly in the mix.

ESPN’s panelist Rex Ryan, on Monday’s Get Up, didn’t hold back, declaring Wilson as the top target for any QB-hungry team. But could the Miami Dolphins actually pull off such a move?

Ryan pointed out that prying Wilson away from the Pittsburgh Steelers won’t come cheap.

Interestingly, he further speculated that if Miami finds itself in dire straits after Tua’s injury, they might just be desperate enough to meet that steep asking price.

“The only way you make that move for Russell Wilson is if you’re a team that’s lost its starting quarterback, and you think you’re a playoff contender,” Ryan mused. “I don’t know, is there one like that now? There very well could be in Miami.”

It’s not hard to see why this idea is gaining traction.

Miami’s offense is built for speed and playmaking – attributes that could mesh well with Wilson’s dual-threat capabilities.

Imagine Wilson slinging passes to Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. It’s enough to make any football fan salivate.

However, what pumps the brakes here is that Tua isn’t planning on retiring, and his future, while uncertain, isn’t set in stone.

As of Monday, neither the Steelers nor the Dolphins have locked in their Week 3 starter. A Wilson trade might be premature at this stage.

Still, in the ever-shifting landscape of the NFL, anything’s possible.
