“The Brady Brunch” sitcom is celebrating 55 years and welcoming five fans and their guests into the iconic family’s home.
Five winners and their guests will be flown to Los Angeles for a VIP brunch, private tour, and photo opportunities with the original cast. They will also have their airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation and meals taken care of.
To win, fans can enter the Sunshine Stay Sweepstakes by purchasing one item from TheBradyExperience.com. Items for purchase include postcards, posters, puzzles and more. There is no limit to how many items can be purchased for an entry, and 10% of each purchase directly supports No Kid Hungry, a national campaign dedicated to ending childhood hunger in America.
The house was only used for exterior shots during the sitcom’s five-season run from 1969 to 1974, while the house’s interior for the series was filmed on sets built on Soundstage 5 at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.
In 2018, HGTV bought the home for $3.5 million and overhauled it in the series “A Very Brady Renovation” and listed it for $5.5 million in 2023. The HGTV documented the renovation process, featuring the six actors who played the Brady children, working alongside network hosts Drew and Jonathan Scott to gut the house. At the same time, the crew reproduced the set’s rooms and 1970s décor.
Online listings for the house invited buyers to “own a piece of pop culture history,” advertising images of the detailed and polished 5,140-square-foot interior, which has five bedrooms and five bathrooms and a second story to accommodate all the rooms seen in the show.
The property was eventually sold for $3.2 million to historic-home enthusiast Tina Trahan and her husband Chris Albrecht, a previous HBO executive, despite the network listing it at $5.5 million. A September 2023 article by the Los Angeles Times cited short-term rental laws and the lack of intellectual property for the property’s limitation in value that ultimately ended up selling for nearly $2 million less.
