Hundreds injured in simultaneous explosion of communication devices carried by Hezbollah members

Another source close to the party confirmed to Agence France-Presse that the incident was an “Israeli violation.”
For its part, Reuters quoted security sources as saying that more than a thousand people were injured in Lebanon as a result of the pager explosions, noting that Pagers The explosion in Lebanon is the latest model brought by Hezbollah in recent months.
Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported that Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was also injured in a pager explosion, and hundreds of members of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah were seriously injured in similar incidents.
Since the outbreak of the war in the Gaza Strip on October 7, the party and Israel have been exchanging fire on a daily basis across the Lebanese-Israeli border.
Eyewitnesses in Beirut’s southern suburbs reported that dozens of ambulances were seen transporting the injured to hospitals, while a large number of people gathered in the area.
An AFP correspondent in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon also reported that dozens of people were injured in similar incidents.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health said that “large numbers of people with various injuries are arriving at Lebanese hospitals, and it has been initially determined that the injuries are related to the explosion of wireless devices that were in the possession of the injured.”
The official National News Agency reported, for its part, that “an unprecedented hostile security incident occurred in the southern suburbs of Beirut, in addition to many Lebanese regions.”
She said, “The handheld pagers system was detonated using advanced technology, and dozens of injuries were reported, and ambulances are working to transport them to hospitals.”
Hezbollah asked its members not to use mobile phones to avoid any Israeli breach, and instead installed its own communications system.
