The New Orleans Saints entered the NFL season with some question marks.
On paper, they had more than enough to be a contending team in their division.
However, not many people saw them as legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
Fast forward to today, and that has clearly changed.
As a matter of fact, Stephen A. Smith even thinks they’re the team to trust in the NFC right now.
Talking on ESPN’s First Take, Smith showered the Saints with praise.

He pointed out that Derek Carr is currently leading the league in passer rating.
He also praised Alvin Kamara for his impressive production.
Moreover, he states that he’s been impressed by their defense and their physicality.
Add their play-making wideouts to the mix, and the Saints are looking very dangerous all of a sudden.
Smith also pointed out that the Detroit Lions didn’t look good in their loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Philadelphia Eagles have a lot of question marks, and the San Francisco 49ers are banged up without Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey, so the Saints are the most solid team in the NFC right now.
Of course, we’ve seen how quickly things can change in this league, so that doesn’t mean they’ll be able to sustain this level of production all season long.
But for now at least, the Saints are looking like a legitimate threat to go the distance and make some noise in the playoffs.
