Last season, star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins seemed to make his concussion issues a thing of the past, as he was able to stay healthy and lead his team into the NFL playoffs as one of the best offensive teams in the league while also making a case for NFL MVP.

Unfortunately, the Dolphins’ success in the regular season didn’t carry over to the playoffs, with Patrick Mahomes and the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs making easy work of Mike McDaniel’s squad, sending them home empty-handed.

Coming into the 2024 NFL season, the Dolphins had high hopes of bouncing back from that playoff loss to the Chiefs with a vengeance, with Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle all taken care of with lucrative contract extensions.

However, things haven’t gone as planned for the Dolphins after the first two weeks of the season, with Hill’s arrest ahead of Week 1 to a lackluster performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars and a disastrous result to the division-rival Buffalo Bills in Week 2.

As if struggling against the Bills wasn’t bad enough, Tagovailoa went down with a nasty concussion that kept him sidelined for the rest of the game and now has resulted in him being placed on injured reserve, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Once Tagovailoa was clearly hurt in a bad way on the field in Week 2 against the Bills, many thought it would mark the end of his NFL career, as he can’t keep suffering these serious injuries, which could impact his life after football.

However, it comes as no surprise that the team nor the player wants to go that route, and the star quarterback will be given more time, as he should be, to get back to 100%.
