Pokemon GO players can become Lucky Friends and gain different benefits. You must first be Best Friends with another trainer to initiate the process. There are several benefits of the Lucky Friends status.
Pokemon GO monsters have a chance of becoming Lucky Pokemon the more you keep them to yourself. These Lucky Pokemon can perform better in battles, their Stardust requirement to power up is low, and they have a shimmery effect around them. You can also get these Lucky Pokemon through your Lucky Friend.
How To Become Lucky Friends In Pokemon GO?
There are different Friendship levels in Pokemon GO: Good Friend, Great Friend, Ultra Friend, and Best Friend. You must first become Friends and then increase your Friendship level to become Best Friends. These are the different ways to boost your Friendship level.
- Add Friends: Share and enter Trainer Codes to send and accept friend requests.
- Send Gifts: Spin PokeStops or Gyms to collect Gifts, which you can send to friends for items and postcards. Some of these Gifts even have Pokemon GO Eggs with Alolan Pokemon.
- Raid Together: Participating in raids or Gym battles with friends boosts Friendship Level, unlocking bonuses.
- Trade Pokemon: Trading Pokemon can increase your Friendship Level. The higher the friendship level, the lower the Stardust costs for trades.
Friendship levels can only increase once per day per friend.
Reaching Best Friends takes months of daily interaction. You earn large amounts of Pokemon GO XP when leveling up friendships. Use Lucky Eggs before reaching Ultra or Best Friends to double the XP—reaching Best Friends with a Lucky Egg gives 200,000 XP.
Once you become Best Friends, you can then reach Lucky Friends level. While there is no guaranteed method of becoming Lucky Friends, repeating the above-mentioned ways can fortify the chances. But keep in mind that even after you become Lucky Friends, it is temporary and only remains until you complete the Lucky Trade.
Pokemon GO: Steps To Trade Pokemon
It is fairly easy to trade a monster in Pokemon GO, but remember that your in-game friend must be within 100 meters of your location.
- Open the Friends tab from your Trainer Profile
- Select the friend and click the Trade button
- Notify the friend to join the trading session
- Choose the Pokemon to trade
- Tap Confirm to complete the trade. (Stardust cost and Candy received is displayed)
The CP, HP, and stats of the traded Pokemon will adjust post-trade.
