Saudi Arabia ranked first in terms of government strategy in the Tortoise report
The Global AI Index, by “Tortoise Intelligence11 Arab countries, led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, out of 83 countries included in the 2024 report.
Launched in 2019, the report reveals which countries are leading the global AI race and why, using a combination of absolute and relative indicators to measure countries’ overall AI capacity (volume) and their AI capacity relative to their population and economic size (density).
This year, the index has expanded the list of countries covered by the study to 83, with new indicators and improved data organized across three pillars: implementation, innovation and investment.
These pillars, according to the report, cover talent, infrastructure, operating environment, research and development, business ecosystem and government strategy.
This year’s Global Artificial Intelligence Index included 11 Arab countries, with Saudi Arabia coming in first place in the Arab world and 14th globally, followed by… The UAE It ranked second in the Arab world and 20th globally, followed by Egypt, which ranked 52nd globally, before Qatar, which ranked 54th.
