Many people have said the Miami Heat need to tweak something if they wish to return to the NBA Finals soon.

Should they be thinking of changing their relationship with shooting guard Tyler Herro?

Patrick Beverley spoke about Herro on the latest episode of his podcast and had nothing but good things to say.

He said Herro always shows up when the team needs him and is capable of consistently delivering big games.

“Any time Tyler Herro’s healthy and plays, he plays well,” Beverley said.

The problems with the Heat aren’t about Herro, Beverley said.

Instead, they are about the lack of a reliable point guard.

Beverley believes the team needs to find a point guard who can expertly match with Jimmy Butler, who will always need the ball.

They recently signed Terry Rozier but so far he hasn’t contributed what the Heat have wanted.

After last season, it’s obvious that Miami isn’t quite ready to return to the Finals, but they could be soon.

They need to change something and they will have to think long and hard about their contracts with several players, including Butler.

But Herro shouldn’t be the scapegoat for the issues bothering this team.

Last season, the 24-year-old star averaged 18.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists with a 44% field goal percentage.

During his five years in the league, Herro has steadily improved his game and moved from a bench player to a member of the starting five.

He has stepped up and delivered and deserves respect, according to Beverley.

The Heat need to make adjustments, but Herro should remain a part of the team, he stated.
