Colorado escaped with a thrilling 38-31 overtime victory over Baylor on Saturday night due to Travis Hunter forcing a fumble out of the back of the end zone on the final play when he punched the ball out of Dominic Richardson’s hands as he was about to score the game-tying touchdown.

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders had a big day going 25-for-41 for 341 yards and a pair of touchdowns while also adding a rushing touchdown, and Skip Bayless was as impressed as anyone with his performance.

Bayless took to X and heaped praise upon Sanders in a viral rant after the game, saying “I’d take him first overall in the draft if I didn’t take his teammate, Travis Hunter” and said that Sanders is “as mentally and physically, clutch, tough as you will find.”

Bayless said that Sanders has a “live, accurate, rocket arm” and reiterated that he should be the first pick in the draft.

One issue that he also touched upon was how Shedeur is still seeing too much pressure, as evidenced by the eight sacks he had to endure in the game.

Sanders threw his offensive line under the bus after the team’s loss to Nebraska a few weeks back and it’s clear there is still work to be done to keep the potential No. 1 pick upright, but on Saturday, he was able to show more escapability than he has in the past and keep plays alive long enough to put up 38 points.

This offense is still struggling mightily to run the ball, but Shedeur and Travis Hunter are continuing to keep them in games and pick up wins despite that.
