Haaland spoke for a good two minutes in front of a cluster of Norwegian media people in the interview zone in the garage under the Stozice stadium. He paid tribute to both the newcomers and national team manager Ståle Solbakken, and not least the magician Antonio Nusa, who disappeared without being interviewed while the team captain was talking.
– He is a great talent and something extraordinary, Haaland said of the two-goal scorer.
– I think we made a solid performance. We have people who come in and do a good job. We win second balls, and the energy is there.
Haaland received two great passes from Sander Berge, the other player who disappeared on the bus while the star forward was talking. The first time he shot into the post, the next time into the goal for a 2-1 lead.
At the match, he also provided an assist to Jens Petter Hauge, who was substituted for Nusa.
– It was a nice weighted pass. It was a good jump-in from him, and a solid change from Ståle. Those who entered did a good job. It’s just to pay tribute to the debutants. It was solidly delivered, so “all praise to them”, said Haaland.
– And then it was solid from Ståle, the small things he changed. Today we must pay tribute to Ståle.
