After a slight delay, the main event of Fallout 76’s Milepost Zero update, Caravan Public Events, is now available. With Caravans, players have yet another end-game sink for their Caps currency, as well as a fun new activity that explores one of the local factions in Fallout 76.

Once players reach level 20, the introductory quest for the new Caravan event, “A Bump in the Road” will become available. After players venture into Fallout 76’s Skyline Valley region to complete this quest, the next stop is Milepost Zero, where players will get to meet some of their new crew and then begin running their own Caravan escorts.

Fallout 76’s New Milepost Zero Caravans Event Explained

Milepost Zero is located in the far south of the Skyline Valley region, and this serves as the hub where players can initiate their own Caravan event. This location is also where the player’s Caravan crew members will be located, once they are recruited.

As long as players have the Caps to spend, players can infinitely start new Caravan events, with the exception that there can only be a maximum of three Caravan events in progress on any server. Players can also tag along to help escort other players’ Caravans, earning a portion of the rewards without having to spend the Caps to initiate the event.

This repeatable Public Event in Fallout 76 tasks players with escorting a Pack Brahmin, protecting them from various enemies, and occasionally dealing with special encounters. The size of the Caravan’s cargo determines the difficulty and length of the event. Not only will players encounter more enemies while escorting a Caravan with a medium or large cargo size, but the enemies themselves will also be tougher overall compared to the small cargo Caravans.

Players can heal the Pack Brahmin throughout the event by attacking it with a weapon that has
the Medic legendary effect
, using a Fire-damage weapon with the Friendly Fire Charisma perk card equipped, or both.

Fallout 76: Milepost Zero Caravan Rewards

Players will get rewards from Caravan events based on their difficulty, with the player who initiated the Caravan getting full rewards, and any contributors getting partial rewards. Aside from the new Supplies currency used by the Caravan crew members’ services, players will also get general quest rewards from Caravans, such as ammo and healing items.

Small Caravan: rewards 5 Supplies for the host, 1 for contributors

Medium Caravan: rewards 25 Supplies for the host, 3 for contributors

Large Caravan: rewards 50 Supplies for the host, 5 for contributors

Fallout 76: Milepost Zero Caravan Crew Members

Name: Role: Services:
Axel & Gyro Decorator Axel can change the appearance of the player’s private Milepost Zero interior, for the cost of Supplies.
Ineke Imported Goods Vendor Ineke sells crafting plans for various new Caravan items, as well as bulk junk resources, for the cost of Caps.
Jessie Brahmin Tamer Jessie sells various upgrades for the Caravan Pack Brahmin’s health, speed, and survivability, for the cost of Supplies. Jessie also allows players to change their Pack Brahmin’s name.
Theodore Ammo Vendor Theo sells various types of ammo. After being upgraded, Theodore provides the quest to unlock the new Laser Carbine weapon, and he will also sell the crafting plans for this weapon’s modifications, for the cost of Caps.

While players may be eager to hire Theodore as their first Milepost Zero Caravan crew member to unlock the new Laser Carbine weapon as soon as possible, it’s highly recommended that players unlock Jessie the Brahmin Tamer first instead. This is because Jessie provides upgrades that are vital for completing the higher-difficulty Caravan runs without failing due to the Pack Brahmin dying. Whereas, the services provided by Axel, Ineke, and Theo won’t give players any inherent advantages for this event.
