The goal is, among other things, for Norwegian industry to learn from Ukrainian innovation in the area, said Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram (Sp) at a press conference with his Ukrainian colleague Rustem Umerov on Friday.
The model Norway will now work on is similar to an arrangement Denmark has already established, says one press release from the government.
– The Ukrainian defense industry must be enabled to produce as much material as possible for the Ukrainian forces. The Ukrainians themselves have pointed out that there is unused production capacity in the country, says Gram in a press release.
He further says that the scheme will contribute to both increasing production and reducing the time it takes for new equipment to arrive at the front.
When asked by the Norwegian press, Umerov rejected claims that have circulated in the international media in recent days as false rumors put out by Russian sources.
It has been claimed that Ukrainian authorities are beginning to shift their focus from recapturing Ukrainian territory to a peace agreement that ensures peace and security.
