After a disappointing end to the 2023 NFL season, with another early loss in the NFL playoffs, the Pittsburgh Steelers headed into the offseason determined to right the ship, especially on the offensive side of the football.
The Steelers’ emphasis was on upgrading the quarterback position, and they were able to do that by signing veteran Russell Wilson in NFL free agency and making a trade with the Chicago Bears to acquire promising youngster Justin Fields.
Although there were questions about both quarterbacks, the team is currently in an ideal situation after the first three games of the season, as Pittsburgh sits with three wins and potentially a long-term starter under center in Fields with Wilson on the mend with a calf injury.
Few expected the Steelers to be in this position so early in the season, especially considering the changes that were made and all the uncertainty surrounding this team.
However, former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick believes Pittsburgh could have the best quarterback situation in the NFL right now via The Pat McAfee Show.

This is an interesting statement by Belichick, especially since the offense scored only 51 points over the course of the first three games of the 2024 campaign.
There’s no question that Fields has shown a lot of promise at times, but the team’s success can mainly be attributed to the play on the defensive side of the football, as an argument could be made that the Steelers have the best defense in the NFL right now.
