After beating the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl two years ago, the Kansas City Chiefs headed into the 2023 NFL season as a seriously deficient team at the wide receiver position, with players leaving the team in NFL free agency.

Despite not being the same team offensively last season, the Chiefs were still able to power through and make it to the NFL playoffs while also kicking it into another gear once the postseason got underway to beat the competition in the AFC on their way to a second straight Super Bowl appearance.

Ultimately, Patrick Mahomes and company were able to defy the odds and win back-to-back titles, becoming the first team to do so since Tom Brady’s New England Patriots, which is an impressive feat, to say the least.

Coming into the 2024 NFL season, the Chiefs upgraded their receiving corps and hope to make a run at NFL history by becoming the first team in the league to win three straight Super Bowls.

Despite starting the 2024 campaign with a 3-0 record, the Chiefs have looked anything but dominant as they have barely scraped by with close calls in each game thus far, leading many to question whether this team can go the distance again this year.

Adam Schein of Mad Dog Sports Radio doesn’t believe the Chiefs are the same team and went as far as to say they are the luckiest 3-0 team he’s ever seen.

“The Chiefs are the luckiest, flukiest 3-0 team I’ve ever seen!” Schein said.

Calling the Chiefs lucky for pulling three straight wins out against three good teams in the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and Atlanta Falcons is a stretch, as it can also be chalked up to being a battle-tested team filled with veterans who know what they’re doing.

Yes, the Chiefs could very well be 0-3 right now, which would completely change the narrative in Kansas City, but few will remember this if this team starts firing on all cylinders and plays like a championship-caliber team again.
