Every now and then, a young player takes the NFL by storm.
Not everybody is ready right out of the gate.
Some players need some time to get a hold of the NFL lifestyle and demands, and others need to adjust to a more complicated playbook and whatnot.
Others, however, were just born ready.
Notably, that might be the case with Jayden Daniels.
The Washington Commanders quarterback has been the best rookie signal-caller in the league thus far, and while the bar wasn’t particularly high, he’s been efficient in all aspects of the game.
That’s why, following the win over the Cincinnati Bengals, star WR Terry McLaurin praised him for being ‘poised’ in such a big moment (via Cameron Wolfe).
“It’s time to win the game.”

McLaurin talked about how they weren’t able to string wins together and get any sort of momentum last season, but they truly believe their time to win has come.
Daniels looks calm and in control when he’s out there.
He’s asking for the ball in crucial times, changing plays at the line of scrimmage, and keeping the opposing defense honest with his ability to hurt them with his legs as well.
He looks like a true veteran and a leader out there.
The Commanders may not have expected to be 1-2 at this point in the season, let alone beat the Cincinnati Bengals on the road.
Now, with a special young man leading the way, their plans might change sooner than expected, and they could look to make a run at the playoffs.
