Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players are expressing their disappointment on social media as developer Treyarch Studios confirms the game’s winner’s circle feature will undergo some major changes at launch. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is due to launch on October 25, but Treyarch is already planning to make some big gameplay adjustments after fans went hands-on with the beta in September.

Fans who had pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 were given early access to test the game out back in August, which was then followed by an open beta for everyone else to get in on the action from September 6. Although there were only a handful of maps, weapons, and field upgrades to check out, it did allow the community to go hands-on with the game’s new omnidirectional movement system. The new gameplay feature is set to shake up the Call of Duty franchise as it allows users to sprint and dive in any direction, making for some fast-paced and high-octane action.

While the general reception to Call of Duty‘s latest shooter was mostly positive, Treyarch has announced some major changes for Black Ops 6 based on feedback from the beta. One of the many changes coming to Black Ops 6 at launch is to the winner’s circle feature, as Treyarch will be removing the ability to spam emotes, something that fans aren’t happy about. At launch, players will now only be able to activate one emote during the winner’s circle, as players were previously spamming the same emote endlessly to mock their opponents.

Black Ops 6 Players Say Goodbye to Winner’s Circle Emote Spam

Over on Reddit, users are jokingly referring to Black Ops 6 as “unplayable” due to the upcoming change. While there are plenty of users mocking the decision in a light-hearted manner, others are saying it is a “rare Treyarch L” and that the feature is now “pointless” and should be removed from the game entirely. Although this isn’t exactly a dealbreaker for many players, some believe it does take away a lot of the fun of winning.

One of the other changes mentioned by Treyarch comes from Black Ops 6‘s Sleeper Agent field upgrade. While the adjustment isn’t as big as fans had hoped for, the studio has confirmed that the field upgrade will no longer be extended in duration when earning eliminations while the field upgrade is active. There’s also a plethora of changes being made to the game’s omnidirectional movement system, as Treyarch says it’s aiming to “improve fluidity” and allow players to tune their sprint behavior to their individual playstyle.

After spending time in the beta, fans also weren’t happy with the game’s small-sized maps. Thankfully, Treyarch has addressed players’ complaints and noted that Black Ops 6‘s launch maps will be larger in size. As the beta weekends only included a handful of maps, many of them appeared to be smaller in size, but the studio promises that “the majority” of the game’s 12 core 6v6 maps will be medium-sized.
