Analyst Says 1 Veteran QB Is ‘Not As Good As We Thought’

Not so long ago, Trevor Lawrence looked like the next big thing entering the National Football League.

It went way beyond his insane record in high school and college; he looked like a legitimate can’t-miss prospect.

Scouts raved about him, and the Jacksonville Jaguars thought they were getting their savior.

We’re four years into his career, and there are no signs of that superstar player.

That’s why, following yet another loss, Geoff Schwartz claimed that maybe it’s time to just deal with the fact that he’s not as good as we thought he’d be.

Talking on Mad Dog Sports Radio, he remembered how scouts put him in the same tier as Andrew Luck, who was considered to be the best quarterback prospect in decades.

Unlike Luck, however, Lawrence just hasn’t been able to elevate the players around him, and the greatness just isn’t there.

He pointed out that most of his numbers stack up pretty similarly with Daniel Jones, who’s not deemed as an elite quarterback, either.

Granted, Lawrence’s rookie season was pretty much a waste because of all of the Urban Meyer stuff, but he’s entering his third year with Doug Pederson and there haven’t been many signs of improvement.

He’s still young, and the Jaguars are pretty much stuck with him after paying him that kind of money.

But even if he turns the corner, it seems like it’s going to be tough for him to live up to the expectations that came with him when he first entered the league.
