Ghirardelli Chocolate, the San Francisco-based chocolatier, will open its first location in Santa Monica on Wednesday.
The Ghirardelli Chocolate & Ice Cream Shop, located at 1541 Ocean Ave, Suite 105, will be adjacent to Santa Monica Pier.
The menu will include Ghirardelli’s World-Famous Hot Fudge Sundae in over 13 variations, milkshakes, hot chocolate, coffee, brownies, cookies, chocolate-covered strawberries and more.
The Santa Monica location will also have a “Pick & Mix” space where guests can customize a take-home selection of 20 flavors of Ghirardelli’s chocolate squares, including popular flavors like Milk Chocolate Caramel and Dark Chocolate Raspberry and seasonal flavors like Peppermint Bark Squares.
The shop’s official grand opening will take place on Wednesday with a ceremonial ribbon cutting led by Santa Monica Mayor Phil Brock and Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce CEO Judy Kruger. The first 100 people to enter the shop will receive a free Ghirardelli World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae.
The official grand opening ceremony will begin at 1 p.m.
Ghirardelli’s new Santa Monica location marks the 13th location in California and 18th nationally.
In Southern California, Ghirardelli Chocolate also has locations in Hollywood, San Diego and Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim.
