The palace notified the crown princess of the possible arrest of Marius Borg Høiby – Dagsavisen

– The police notified the Royal Court, and the Royal Court then informed the crown prince couple about an incident involving Marius Borg Høiby and about a possible arrest. As is known, the police also notified Marius Borg Høiby ahead of the arrest. The police chose not to make an arrest in his residence and have never searched it, writes communications manager Guri Varpe at Slottet in an email to NTB.

She refers the police for further questions.

Høiby was arrested by the police at 4.10pm on 4 August this year after a violent incident in an apartment on Frogner in Oslo the previous evening.

The arrest took place after the police had called Høiby half an hour earlier and agreed to meet him at Jansløkka school, which is near Skaugum where he lives.

The Oslo police notified PST

On Thursday, the police confirmed to NTB that the Oslo police district notified the bodyguard service in PST about the arrest. The bodyguard service is responsible for the safety of the royal family.

– We routinely warn about all conditions that may affect the security system around the Royal Palace, said police inspector Martin Strand in the Oslo police district.

It was VG who mentioned the notification first.

The government apparatus was notified

The police’s situation center in the Directorate of Police (POD) was also notified of the arrest at 1.55pm on Sunday, and POD again notified the Ministry of Justice, which informed the Prime Minister’s office and the Ministry of Children and Families.

The reason why the Ministry of Children and Families was informed was that Minister Kjersti Toppe (Sp) was to do an interview on youth crime that same evening.

The Ministry of Justice would inform about the investigation so that the Minister could refer to the police if there were any questions.

Four victims

Høiby is under investigation for several matters, among other things he is accused of abuse in close relationships against Juliane Snekkestad, with whom he was a lover and cohabitant from 2018 to 2022.

He is also charged with abuse in close relationships against his ex-girlfriend Nora Haukland, who he was with from 2022 to 2023, as well as threats against a man.

Høiby has admitted violence against the offended woman after the violent incident at Frogner in August and threats against a man. He does not plead guilty in the cases where ex-boyfriends Haukland and Snekkestad are offended.
