Suspect wanted for shooting Texas police officer may be in Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A suspect wanted for shooting a Texas police officer last week may be in the Wichita area, according to Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers.

Seth Altman is wanted for allegedly shooting Memphis Police Chief Rex Plant on Thursday while he was attempting to serve a burglary warrant at a home. Altman allegedly ran out of the back door during the incident and shot toward Plant while fleeing the scene.

Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott announced a $10,000 reward through the Texas Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest and capture of Altman. He is described as approximately 6 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs approximately 220 pounds.
