Work is being done to clarify which of the evacuees will be allowed to move home again, writes Hardanger Folkeblad. Preparedness is now being reduced slightly, says mayor Roald Aga Haug after a meeting of the crisis management team at 5pm on Friday.
– A formidable effort has been made by personnel from all agencies who have had many different tasks during the crisis situation. Preparedness will be reduced slightly from now on, says the mayor.
There is still a large flow of water in the waterway at Lofthus, says Haug.
All the evacuees were accommodated at Krossvoll community center, the West police district stated earlier on Friday. Some of the evacuees can stay at Hardanger Folkehøgskule, and some can stay at Kinsarvik Fjordhotell, according to Hardanger Folkeblad.
– The evacuation of residences at Hordatunvegen in Lofthus has been initiated. People are afraid that the bridge out there will collapse. The situation is demanding. Work is underway to evacuate several houses at Lofthus now, the municipality stated earlier in a press release.
Ullensvang Gjesteheim has also been evacuated, the municipality says.
Everyone who has been evacuated in Odda and Stana has been allowed to move home.
Extensive damage has been reported at Lofthus, and the road may be closed at short notice. All roads out of Odda are now open again, except county road 550 which is closed at the broken bridge at Edna. County road 550 will not be opened until Monday after assessment by a geologist.
