– To further promote people-to-people exchanges between China and other countries, China has decided to extend the visa exemption policy to citizens of Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein and South Korea who have ordinary passports, which travel to China, are written by the Chinese embassy in Norway on theirs websites Friday.
It was during Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre’s (Ap) visit to China in September that it became known that China wanted to give Norwegians 15 days of visa freedom.
The visa-free regime applies from 8 November until 2025 for business travellers, tourists, people visiting family or visiting China in transit.
In recent years, Norwegians who want to travel to China have had to physically deliver their passports to the Chinese consulate in Oslo to apply for a visa and wait for the visa application to be processed.
