Hagen thus repeated Saturday’s achievement when she became Norwegian champion at the same place. She then became the NM winner by 31.3 seconds to Gyda Westvold Hansen in 2nd place.
On Sunday, Hagen was without competition. And so this time Westvold Hansen came in 2nd place. She moved from Marte Leinan Lund on the last hill and was 1.32.6 minutes behind the winner Hagen. Leinan Lund followed just under ten seconds behind there again.
– This was very nice. A little Christmas spirit. I got to test the shape nicely, and it felt really good. This gives confidence ahead of the World Cup. I’m just going to continue to enjoy skiing, said the supreme winner to NRK.
Hagen finished one second behind the young girl Ingrid Alva Helga LÃ¥te before the cross-country race over five kilometers. In the snowy weather, it didn’t take long before last year’s overall winner in the World Cup was close. When rounding after 2.5 kilometres, the distance down to LÃ¥te was 49 seconds. Not long after, LÃ¥te stopped running.
Marte Leinan Lund and Gyda Westvold followed just under a minute and a half behind there again, and that distance remained roughly the same until the finish.
– I’m taking two nice drive-throughs with me, said Westvold Hansen.
Leinan Lund in 3rd place was impressed by the winner.
– Ida looks very strong. I think she will be superior in the track this season, said Leinan Lund.
Sunday’s race was a normal Norwegian Cup race and, unlike Saturday, did not have NM status.
