In a statement issued on Monday, the African Peace and Security Council asked the Chairperson of the African Union Commission to reopen the African Union’s liaison office in the city of Port Sudan, the current headquarters of the Sudanese government, and welcomed the readiness of the “President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council” to form a civilian-led transitional government.
