The schools in Beirut are closed until the end of December because of the war – Dagsavisen

The Lebanese authorities announced on Sunday that no students can physically attend school and that schools in the Beirut area will remain closed until the end of December.

It is not specified when in December the schools may possibly reopen.

Since the escalation of the war between Israel and the Hezbollah movement in September, the Lebanese capital has been the scene of repeated Israeli airstrikes. The city’s southern suburbs, a stronghold for Hezbollah, have been hit particularly often.

The schools in Beirut have also previously been forced to close due to the ongoing war, but this has been for shorter periods.
