Reiten has found the back of the net six times in the first eight games of the season in the English Super League. In the Champions League, the result is two nets and one assist in four appearances. On Sunday, she became the match winner against Manchester United.
Last December, Reiten signed a new contract with Chelsea. Like the previous one, it extends to the summer of 2025, but at the same time contains an option to extend it by a further year.
Three months into the 2024/2025 season, the contract has not yet been extended. National team manager Gemma Grainger tells NTB that she has not spoken to Reiten about the club’s future.
– Guro is a good example of a player who takes things day by day. I will not be surprised if there are many people looking for her and that she receives many offers. For me, it is important that the players focus on what they are doing on the pitch, and when they want to talk about the future, I am here, says Grainger.
Reiten has played in Chelsea since 2019. The 30-year-old has had great success in the English capital. In all of the last five seasons, the blue shirts have been league champions.
– I am sure that at one point or another she will make an assessment about the future. She definitely has a plan, and I’m here if she wants to talk about it, Grainger continues.
