You should start building multiple Food Districts as soon as possible to stockpile food and overcome food shortages in extreme weather conditions. As your city grows, the demand for food will increase. You’ll need to expand your Food District to meet the growing needs of your citizens.

Frostpunk 2 - Chapter 1 - Extraction District

Extraction Districts are specialized buildings that are dedicated to extracting resources from deposits. You can extract Prefabs, Materials, Oil, and other valuable resources from different deposits.

Once a deposit is depleted, an Extraction District loses much of its value. It becomes less productive and may no longer be worth maintaining. You can destroy a depleted Extraction District and receive a partial refund to get back some of your initial investment.

Housing Districts provide Shelter for your citizens to survive in the harsh winter conditions. While they don’t directly increase your population, Housing Districts provide the space and resources to accommodate new settlers from expeditions or natural population growth. If you notice a drop in your heat index, it’s often due to a lack of housing.

Central District

Think of the Central District as the administrative center of your city. It’s located at the heart of your settlement and houses the Council Hall and the Generator. The Council Hall is where you can propose or approve any laws you deem fit for your city. The Generator is a powerful heat source that provides warmth to surrounding districts, making sure they survive the harsh winter. You can build out from the Central District to expand your city.
